What decides the cost of a full arch

Full-arch prices vary more than almost any other dental treatment. Six things explain most of the difference.

Short answer

The price depends on the number of implants, the implant brand, the final bridge material (acrylic or zirconia), whether extractions or bone grafts are needed, whether you're treating one jaw or both, and what's bundled in. In the UK, implants are usually only available privately. Always compare written, itemised quotes for the same plan.

The six things behind the price

  1. Number of implants: four or six per jaw. See four or six?
  2. Implant brand: long-established brands usually cost more, and are easier for UK dentists to service.
  3. Final bridge material: acrylic or zirconia. See zirconia or acrylic?
  4. Extractions of remaining teeth.
  5. Bone grafts or sinus lifts, if your scan shows they're needed.
  6. One jaw or both, and what's bundled: scans, temporary teeth, hotel, transfers.

Adding up the real total

The NHS treatment abroad checklist advises factoring in exchange rates, the possibility of staying longer and the cost of return trips. For full-arch treatment, add:

  • flights and accommodation for two trips
  • travel insurance that covers planned treatment
  • time off work, and a companion's travel if you'd like one
  • future hygiene visits and occasional repairs

Common questions

Why don't you publish prices?

Prices depend on your scan, and we won't publish figures that could mislead. Send an X-ray and we'll give you a written, itemised price, clearly labelled as ours.

Is the price per jaw?

Usually, yes. Check whether a quote is for one jaw or both, and whether temporary teeth are included.

Can I get full-arch implants on the NHS?

Rarely. The NHS says implants are usually only available privately, except for some patients who cannot wear dentures, for example after mouth cancer or an accident.
